Junior Chef Camp (Ages 10 to 15)
July 20 2026 | 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM2000 4th Ave, Seattle, WA 98121
This summer, give your young chef the opportunity to cook in a real professional kitchen. At Hot Stove Society, the cooking school founded by award‑winning Seattle chef Tom Douglas, campers learn directly from experienced chef instructors who bring professional techniques to life in a fun, approachable, and safe environment for young cooks.
Campers will gain hands‑on experience with essential culinary techniques including knife skills, flavor building, kitchen organization, and classic cooking methods.
Throughout the week, young chefs will explore global cuisines while preparing a variety of savory dishes and sweet treats from scratch. Campers may learn to fold Chinese dumplings, shape handmade pasta and cook classic Italian dishes, and prepare Latin American favorites like fresh tortillas and pupusas. They’ll also explore Asian flavors by creating Korean bibimbap and learning the fundamentals of sushi rolling. Baking sessions will introduce campers to delicious baked goods and desserts.
Along the way, students build confidence, creativity, and teamwork while discovering the excitement of making food from scratch. By the end of the camp, young chefs will leave with new skills, new flavors they love, and the inspiration to keep cooking at home.

Drop‑Off and Pick‑Up Policy
Parents and guardians may pull their car up to the entrance of Hotel Andra for drop‑off and pick‑up. A Hot Stove Ambassador will be stationed at the entrance to escort campers safely into the building and to the cooking classroom. At the end of the day, campers will be escorted back to the entrance where parents or guardians can pick them up.
Dress Code
For safety reasons, campers must follow the kitchen dress code:
• Long hair must be pulled back.
• No open‑toed shoes.
• No short shorts or skirts.
Because campers will be working with hot oils, hot surfaces, and sharp knives, these safety requirements must be followed at all times.
Safety and Liability
Cooking involves the use of sharp tools, hot surfaces, and other kitchen equipment. While chef instructors will provide safety instruction and supervision throughout the camp, participation involves inherent risks. By enrolling their child in the camp, parents or guardians acknowledge these risks and agree that Hot Stove Society, its instructors, and the facility are not responsible for injuries that may occur during normal camp activities.
